ICON HONORS 2012: About Your Entry

This is the Official Entry placing your submission or nomination into competition for ICON HONORS 2012 recognition.

By submitting this form and supporting material, you join other home and gift industry retailers, manufacturers, sales agents and service providers competing for ICON HONORS recognition in three categories: Innovation, Contribution and Achievement.

Entries will be independently evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges from the retail, manufacturing and design communities.

Winning entries will be announced at the ICON HONORS 2012 Celebration in Atlanta on Saturday, July 14, 2012 in conjunction with The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market^®.

Official Rules: How To Enter

Please complete your entry following the four steps outlined below.

ICON HONORS Submissions are made in the INNOVATION and CONTRIBUTION categories only.
ICON HONORS Nominations are made in the ACHIEVEMENT category only. Self-nominations are prohibited.

You may make multiple submissions and multiple nominations following these rules:

All INNOVATION and CONTRIBUTION submissions must be for programs conducted and completed between January 1 and December 31, 2011.
One form per submission and nomination. Multiple submissions or nominations in a single form will be rejected.
Completed entries must be received by March 15, 2012.

For ICON HONORS Submissions and Nominations, all examples and illustrations of work or of nominees entered in the 2012 competition must be conveyed by PDF attachment to the entry. Once your submission or nomination has been reviewed you will receive an email with a link to where you can upload the attachments. The uploaded material may include images of products, stores, shops, events and promotions; printed material (product information, promotional pieces, media clippings); customer testimonials; illustrations of performance results (sales charts, case histories); and nominee endorsements and testimonials. INNOVATION Submissions

INNOVATION 1: Innovative Technology Applications

For Retailers, Manufacturers, Sales Agencies and Service Providers

	Marketing: Use of technology resources to promote products and services, reach customers and increase sales.
	Networking: Use of social media channels to promote products and services, reach customers and increase sales.
	Selling: Use of technology resources to sell product in conventional (in-store/in-showroom) and electronic environments.

INNOVATION 2: Innovative Product Design

For Manufacturers

	New products: Brand-new (original/first-to-market) designs.
	Redesigned products: New designs for existing products.
	Licensed products: Newly-licensed product designs.

INNOVATION 3: Innovative Product Packaging

For Retailers and Manufacturers

	New designs: Brand-new packaging designs (for existing or new products).
	New material: New packaging material, including unconventional and repurposed.
	Eco-friendly: Sustainable packaging material.

CONTRIBUTION Submissions

CONTRIBUTION 1: Community Contribution and Influence

For Retailers

	Business development: Store development (new, expanded, or redeveloped/repurposed) to strengthen the business community.
	Community outreach: Cause-related product promotions and sales benefiting organizations in need.
	Community quality of life: Community-wide programs to enhance the quality of life.

CONTRIBUTION 2: Industry Contribution and Influence

For Manufacturers, Sales Agencies and Service Providers

	Leadership: Industry-building services, programs or promotions of national reach and impact.
	Cause-related product: Development of cause-specific product benefiting institutions or organizations in need.
	Sustainable business practice: Consistent commitment to eco-friendly business practices and standards.

ACHIEVEMENT Nominations

	ACHIEVEMENT 1: Top Retail/Manufacturer/Sales Agency Newcomer* Home/Gift Industry Newcomer: By nomination in each category (Retailer, Manufacturer or Sales Representative), a single individual making an industry-wide mark in the previous 24 months. *Within calendar years 2010 and 2011.
	ACHIEVEMENT 2: Individual Career Accomplishment For Manufacturers, Sales Agencies and Service Providers Singular Achievement: By open nomination in each category (Retailer, Manufacturer, Sales Representative), recognition of a single individual demonstrating noteworthy career achievements consistently over multiple years.

ACHIEVEMENT 3: Life Accomplishment

For Retailers, Manufacturers, Sales Agencies and Service Providers

Career Achievement: By open nomination in each category (Retailer, Manufacturer, Sales Representative, Service Provider), recognition of a single individual demonstrating distinguished achievement in an active career.
